The 29 Royale arena ladder, explained
How trophies work in 29 Royale, the eight arenas from the Jungle to the Legendary Arena, and why the ladder is paced for about a hundred trophies an hour.
Every match in 29 Royale is played in an arena, and every arena is unlocked with trophies. The ladder has been paced so that the count reflects the time you have spent playing and winning. This is how it works.
Earning trophies
A round your team wins is worth 10 trophies. A match your team wins is worth a bonus of 50. Losing costs nothing, and trophies never go down. The ladder measures how much you have played and won, not how your last evening went.
The pace the ladder was built for is about a hundred trophies an hour. That is the number the thresholds are measured against.
The eight arenas
| Arena | Trophies to unlock |
|---|---|
| Jungle | 0 |
| Golden Egyptian | 50 |
| Devils Land | 150 |
| Frozen Tundra | 300 |
| Jade Dragon | 600 |
| Haunted Graveyard | 1,000 |
| Celestial Peak | 2,000 |
| Legendary Arena | 4,000 |
The later arenas are where the ladder stretches out. The top arena sits at 4,000 trophies, which is roughly forty hours of winning play at the intended pace.
Picking an arena
By default you play in the highest arena you have reached. The lobby also lets you choose any arena you have unlocked, and that choice stays until you unlock a new one. Each arena has its own floor art, ambience and live effects. The camera zooms in while the deck is shuffled and when the trump is picked, so the important parts of the table stay in view.
What unlocks along the way
Avatars are tied to the ladder too. Some avatars open at a particular arena. Golden Egyptian opens one, Frozen Tundra opens another, and Haunted Graveyard and Celestial Peak open two more, with the Legendary Arena opening the last of the ladder set. The rest of the shop has its own unlocks, which are covered in the shop guide.
When you reach a new arena, a reveal plays. The island rises from behind a shaking padlock, and the shop marks the items that just opened.
Start in the Jungle and climb from there. 29 Royale is free on Google Play.
