Avatars, borders and the shop: how unlocking works in 29 Royale
A look at the 29 Royale shop. Which avatars are free, which unlock by arena, how rewarded ads work, and why idle animations never switch off.
The shop in 29 Royale is where your seat at the table gets a face. This is how the pieces fit together.
Three ways to unlock
- Free. The first ten avatars are yours from the start. Pick one on the welcome screen. You can change it at any time from your profile.
- By arena. Five avatars and a set of borders unlock as you climb the arena ladder. Locked tiles show the arena they open at.
- By rewarded ad. Twenty more avatars can be unlocked by choosing to watch between two and ten ads each. Ads are always your choice. At most three ad-unlocked items become available per arena, so the shop grows with you rather than all at once. Watch Ad buttons carry a rewarded-ad icon, so there are no surprises.
Borders and frames
Borders sit around your avatar at the table and in the lobby. Like avatars, some are free, some come with arenas and some come with rewarded ads. The practice table uses particular borders, so you can tell your practice partners apart.
Always moving
Avatar idle animations always play. There is no low-end switch-off, no pause for interface tweens, and no slowdown when the game's time scale changes. The only time an avatar steps aside is while a gift animation plays over its seat.
Finding what is new
When an arena unlock or an ad unlock finishes, the new items move to the end of the unlocked row, with a glow and a "new" tag. The locked label shrinks to fit, even on the smallest tiles.
Get 29 Royale on Google Play and the first ten faces are waiting.
